Getting New Glass!

Today marks the end of a battle to sell the sony vg10! I’ve finally sold it for 1100, way less than I would have liked but still at least its sold.

So now the best part, what to buy! Here are some pieces that i have my eye on…

I’ve just bought a 550d as my number two camera, so seeing as I only have 3 lenses that will work on it ( all nikon), Ive decided to get some new glass
First up, the Sigma EX 50-150mm F2.8 (canon mount)

The reason im going for a canon mount is so i can use the lens for photos. I have a nikon 18-200, but ive used this on my gh2 and i need something with auto focus.
This lens looks like a total winner, it has a 2.8 constant appeture. So i can zoom in and not have the Iris close up. I can also put it on my gh2 and use it for video( might have to use something to hold the appeture open)
So that is my first piece of glass, a lovely fast zoom lens

Next up, the Tamron SP 17-50mm F2.8 (also canon mount)

Im really excited to get my hands on this lens. Ive have the lumix 20mm F1.7 for my GH2 which works out at a 40mm with the 2x crop. I love this field of view its great for most shots but a week ago i was shooting inside a car and that little bit extra field of view would have been great. with the at its widest it 17mm, with the 1.6x crop of the 550d it works out as  about 27mm. Again with the constant appeture this is one that will prob stay on the camera a lot!

Finally, The Samyang/Rokinon 35mm f1.4!!!

This has been on my list for ages! I’m finally getting this beautiful lens. It will be basically a 50mm equivalent on the 550d (56mm) which is supposedly the most natural field of view to out eyes. I’ve shot extensively on the GH2 but the 550d has a larger sensor (all be it slightly, but still larger) so this will allow me to have a shallower depth of field this combined with the f1.4 will be beautiful!

If anyone has or has used any of these lenses let me know how they were
